Lori A. Ortiz brings a wealth of experience and certifications to her role at Arena Gun Club, including credentials as a USCCA Firearms Instructor, Texas License to Carry Instructor, and NRA Range Safety Officer. Since joining the team in 2015, Lori has transitioned from a novice in the firearms community to a passionate educator with a deep commitment to promoting safety, proficiency, and confidence in handling firearms. Her journey in the firearms field began with a simple curiosity and quickly evolved into a profound passion for both learning and teaching. Lori’s primary mission is to foster an inviting and supportive environment for her students, ensuring they not only enjoy the sport but also fully comprehend the serious responsibilities of firearm ownership. She is dedicated to empowering her students with the skills and knowledge necessary for responsible and skilled firearm operation.

Courtney Ferris is a distinguished member of the Arena Gun Club team, holding certifications as a USCCA Firearms Instructor, Texas License to Carry Instructor, and NRA Range Safety Officer. Since joining in 2014, Courtney’s initial hobby in firearms swiftly transformed into a professional calling. Her approach is centered around transforming fear and curiosity into knowledge and understanding. With a deep-seated passion for firearms coupled with a dedication to education, Courtney crafts bespoke lesson plans tailored to the unique needs and skill levels of her students, ranging from beginners to advanced shooters. Her commitment is to ensure each student leaves with a greater sense of confidence, proficiency, and an enriched understanding of firearm safety and operation.

Eddie the Eagle Kids Firearm Safety (NRA)
This class puts the dangers of firearms into easy to understand concepts for kids.
“You wouldn’t touch a stove. Why? Because you can get hurt the same applies to guns” It focuses on the eddie the eagle motto of “stop, don’t touch, run away and tell a grownup” This is a non-shooting class. At the end of the class kids will receive a coloring book to take home, some crayons and parent’s will receive some brochures on how to continue firearm safety education and a free gun cable lock.
